Who are Oasis?

We have been pioneering sustainable, holistic community development for 35 years and work in many communities affected by inequality. We are passionate about creating change – economically, socially, physically, spiritually; in education, housing, justice, health, youth, and family support; with people of all ages and in all situations.

We believe that things can change. We believe community should be a place in which people thrive. We’re bold about pioneering alternatives and trying new things and committed to communities leading the way.

In Greater Manchester, we have:

5

For 35 years Oasis has been helping to build community where everyone can thrive. We work to end disadvantage and create opportunity for all, providing education, housing, health, justice, youth and family support.

Our Ethos

Oasis UK is driven by the passionate belief that each human being is uniquely valuable and of equal importance.

It informs our inclusive ethos, which we hope is obvious wherever and whenever someone encounters Oasis and permeates through everything we do.

  • A passion to include everyone

  • A desire to treat everyone equally, respecting differences

  • A commitment to healthy and open relationships

  • A deep sense of hope that things can change and be transformed

  • A sense of perseverance to keep going for the long haul

Explore the Oasis 9 Habits with us

Our ethos values are lived out every day in who we are, and how we behave towards each other. In all our work – from our Basis drop in centres, to our Academies, and from our churches to our community projects – we encourage each other to keep on becoming the best version of ourselves. We do this by striving to develop the 9 Habits in our behaviour and this has been the key to transformation in our schools and community projects.
