Celebrating Louise Cherry's Success at the Elysian Awards!

April 21st, 2026

This weekend, I had the incredible honour of attending the Elysian Awards in Guildford, a night I won’t forget anytime soon. Travelling down from Greater Manchester, there was a real sense of excitement and anticipation, and that only grew as myself and Nicola arrived at the stunning G Live venue, complete with a red carpet that made the whole experience feel truly special.

I was nominated as a finalist in two categories: the No One Left Behind Award and the Woman Making a Difference Award. Both recognitions mean so much to me, as they reflect the heart of the work I care deeply about, ensuring people feel seen, heard, valued, and supported. To be acknowledged in these areas felt incredibly meaningful.

Although I didn’t take home the top spot, I was awarded silver in both categories. Honestly, just being nominated alongside so many inspiring individuals was an achievement in itself, and receiving silver awards in both categories is something I am immensely proud of.

The evening itself was nothing short of inspiring. Being in a room filled with people who are all working to make a positive difference in others’ lives was powerful. It was a reminder of how much good is happening every day, often behind the scenes.

As a support worker with Oasis GM PACS, I have the privilege of working closely with families, particularly those affected by SEND and neurodiversity, an area I care deeply about. My passion lies in empowering those families, helping them navigate challenges, and ensuring they feel supported every step of the way. This recognition has only strengthened my commitment to that work.

I came away from the night feeling grateful, motivated, and proud, not just of my own journey, but of being part of a wider community that is dedicated to creating meaningful change.

This recognition isn’t a finish line, it’s a reminder of why the work matters and who it’s for. I’m leaving the experience more determined than ever to keep showing up, advocating, and creating spaces where every family feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
